Averill Creek
WINERY
Founded in 2001 by Andy Johnston, Averill Creek began as a quest to showcase Cowichan’s unique terroir, particularly for Pinot Noir. Andy planted a 30-acre vineyard on Mt. Prevost, dedicating over 20 years to understanding the land. In 2018, winemaker Brent Rowland joined, bringing experience from 19 international harvests in California, New Zealand, Australia, and Niagara. Now, with Andy’s deep vineyard knowledge and Brent’s expertise, Averill Creek focuses on vibrancy, texture, freshness, and elegance. Using minimal intervention in both vineyard and winery, they craft honest wines that truly reflect Vancouver Island’s terroir—from soil to glass.
